DHEAN.NEWS JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo, Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa, and a number of Ministers Indonesia Maju cabinet attended the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) which was held at KPK, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (9/12/2021).
In his speech, President Joko Widodo said that eradicating corruption requires new and unusual ways.
"We have to keep improving and we have to keep improving. Taking action should not only target legal events that create a scene on the surface, but it requires fundamental, basic, and comprehensive efforts that are directly felt by the community," said the President.
According to him, it is very important to take action in a firm and indiscriminate manner. Not only to provide a deterrent effect on the perpetrators but also a frightening effect on the perpetrators. The President considered that enforcement is very important to save the state money and restore state losses.
In this regard, the President stated that the government continues to push for the immediate enactment of a criminal act of confiscation of assets.
"We will continue to push it and God willing, it will be completed next year so that fair law enforcement can be realized in a professional, transparent, accountable manner, to improve people's welfare," added the President.
On that occasion, the President also emphasized the importance of utilizing public support for the eradication of corruption.
"Cultivating an anti-corruption culture from an early age is an important part of eradicating corruption, building self-awareness is the key to anti-corruption mentality," said the President.
In line with the President, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in his remarks said the need for a good and well-established orchestration, so that the corruption eradication movement can be successful and efficient.
The KPK chairman informed that throughout 2021 the KPK had helped the government to increase state revenue. The KPK has saved the return of state losses of Rp. 2.6 trillion, the KPK has also managed to save potential state losses of Rp. 46.5 trillion.
In 2021, the KPK will also conduct an Integrity Assessment Survey to measure the integrity of Ministries, Institutions, Regional Governments, Provincial Governments, and all non-governmental institutions.
For the category of ministries and institutions, Bappenas got the highest score with achievement of 87.71. Meanwhile, for the category of regional institutions, Bank Indonesia won with a score of 89.69.
