DHEAN.NEWS PARIS - Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa and his staff held a meeting with representatives of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), at Indonesian Embassy in Paris, Monday (1/11/2021).

During the meeting, Minister said that the closest challenge facing Indonesia today is accelerating economic recovery.

“The pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and caused more problems for the future. We have been trying to find new ways and strategies, on how we can overcome them,” said the Minister.

The Minister considered controlling the spread of Covid-19 was very important. This is because there are still many people who need work and income to survive.

The Minister also emphasized that other things that Indonesian government is focusing on are recovering better, facing new megatrends, pursuing a green economy and sustainable recovery.

"To recover better, we need to learn from other countries about how they are building better ecosystems that allow the economy to become more resilient in the long term," he said.

“We have had a Joint Statement with ministers in Sweden to work together on a Blue Economy and learned a lot from Sweden and Denmark about implementing a green economy. We also learn about how investment in human resources, advanced technology and digitalization is a solution to various development problems in these countries," continued the Minister.

The Minister added that the purpose of meeting with the OECD was to gain insight to improve strategies in accelerating economic recovery, and to discuss the cooperation that could be made between the OECD and Bappenas in the context of Indonesia's new economic transformation.
